Lost your DL? How to get a duplicate driving licence in Kerala
Online application, fees and what to do while you wait for the replacement card.
If your driving licence is lost, damaged or stolen, apply for a duplicate through Kerala’s DL services on the MVD / Sarathi path. You will typically need identity confirmation, a reason, fee payment and supporting uploads as prompted.
Keep a digital copy in DigiLocker / mParivahan where available, but do not rely on screenshots alone if police or insurers ask for a valid document trail.
While the duplicate is processing, avoid driving without lawful authority. If your only issue is an expired card, that is a renewal problem — not a duplicate problem.
Once you have the replacement, update insurer and employer records. Then book a short refresher if you have been off the road during the wait.
