Driving licence fees in Kerala: what you actually pay
LL test, DL test and card fees — plus why “all-inclusive” school pricing still matters.
Kerala MVD publishes fee schedules for learner’s licences, tests, Form 7 cards, renewals and duplicates. Numbers change over time — always check the official fees page before you budget.
Typical cost buckets include: issue of learner’s licence per class, LL test fee, driving test fee per class, and the smart card / Form 7 charges. Failed attempts usually mean re-test fees.
Renewal within grace period is cheaper than renewal after expiry, and long delays can attract year-based additional fees. If your licence is close to expiry, renew early.
Driving-school “all-inclusive” packages often wrap government fees and service charges into one price so you are not surprised mid-course. Ask what is included (LL, DL, RTO, taxes) before you compare two quotes that look similar on the surface.
